Every new employee at NeoCompany is paired with an onboarding buddy for their first three months. The buddy is not your manager and not responsible for your performance; instead, they are there to answer everyday questions, introduce you to colleagues, and help you feel at home faster.

Buddies are chosen from the new hire's team or a closely related team, based on availability and interest. A short kickoff call in week one is recommended to set expectations: how often you'll check in, preferred communication channels, and topics that are off-limits for a "no stupid questions" chat.

If the pairing doesn't feel like a good fit, it's fine to ask People Operations for a change. The goal is a comfortable, low-pressure relationship that makes the first weeks smoother, not a formal mentorship commitment.
