Top management shall review the ISMS at planned intervals to ensure suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness.
What this means in practice: Steer security at leadership level—review whether the ISMS still fits the business, performs, and has the right priorities and resources.
To make this concrete, the organization must ensure:
a. Inputs include audits, metrics, incidents, risk status, changes in context, and stakeholder feedback.
b. Outputs include decisions on improvements, resource needs, and updates to objectives or approach.
c. Documented evidence of review results exists (minutes, decisions, assigned actions, deadlines).
