Blog functionality allows users to publish and share posts in the wiki. BlueSpice provides a built-in blog named "General" and supports additional blogs and personal user blogs.
Accessing blogs
The built-in blog "General" is available on the special page Special:ArticlesHome, which lists all blog posts.
Administrators can show or hide the Blogs link in the main navigation via Entrypoints in the Configuration manager.
Creating a blog
A blog is a page in the Blog namespace. Blog posts are created as subpages of the blog page.
For example, the "Marketing" blog is created as:
Blog:Marketing
Creating a blog post
Users with edit permissions in the Blog namespace can create blog posts.
Blog posts can be created from several entry points:
- Select Create new blog post on the All blog posts page.
- Select the + icon next to the blog page entry point and fill in the New blog post dialog.
- Select New blog post from the New content button in the header.
For example, the post "Employee referral program" in the "General" blog has the page name:
Blog:General/Employee_referral_program
Blog post elements
A blog post includes:
- A post heading that links to the wiki page for the post.
- A Watch icon to add the post to or remove it from the user's watchlist.
- The username and date of the last edit.
- The post content, displayed below the heading and metadata.
Blog posts are automatically sorted by their last edit date. The sort order cannot be changed on the blog page.
User blogs
Users can create and manage a personal blog. The personal blog is accessed through Blog in the user menu.
User blogs are global. The same personal blog is available across the wikis in the BlueSpice Galaxy and is not specific to an individual wiki.
User blog posts are created as subpages of the user's name in the User_blog namespace. For example:
User_blog:WikiSysop/New_helpdesk_has_been_published
User blog posts are marked with the User blog tag so that they can be identified as personal blog posts.
Users can edit only their own user blog pages. Moving a blog page to another user's blog is restricted.
