Add a mention to directly address a user on a page. The mentioned user's name is displayed as a link to their profile. A mention can also be used with a task and date to create a task item for the mentioned user.
How to mention a user
- In VisualEditor, select Add mention in the editor toolbar or type
@. - Enter the first letters of the user's name. A list of matching users opens.
- Select the intended user from the list. The user's name is added as a mention.

Notifications
A mention creates a link to the user's profile and sends a notification to the mentioned user. Mention notification settings are available under Notifications > Notification channels in the user's preferences.
By default, users receive in-wiki notifications for mentions, but no e-mail notifications.
