The Search field Content droplet adds a search field to a wiki page. The search field can be configured to search specific types of results, namespaces, or categories.
Add the Search field Content Droplet
To add the Search fieldContent Droplet:
- Open the page in VisualEditor.
- Open Content Droplets.
- Search for and select Search field.
- Configure the search field in the TagSearch dialog.
- Select Insert.
Configuration options
The TagSearch dialog provides the following parameters:

| Types of results | Specifies the types of results that the search field returns. Available result types are Wikipage, Special page, Local file, and External file. Multiple result types can be separated by a pipe (|). |
| Filter by namespace | Limits the search to the selected namespaces. Multiple namespaces can be separated by a pipe (|). |
| Filter combination of categories | Specifies how multiple categories are combined. This parameter is evaluated only together with the category parameter. AND returns only results that belong to all specified categories. OR returns results that belong to at least one of the specified categories. |
| Placeholder text for search field | Specifies the text displayed in the search field before a search term is entered. |
Search field output
The configured search field displays results according to the selected parameters.
